FACING ENVIRONMENTAL CATASTROPHE
Climate change is not a distant threat. Extreme temperatures, air pollution, catastrophic storms, floods, droughts and wildfires have become regular occurrences around the world. The civic tech sector is uniquely positioned to tackle some of the greatest environmental challenges we will face.

When natural disaster strikes, how effectively are communities able to marshal the resources and services needed to save lives? The answer depends largely on how civic technologies are being deployed to all affected community members. Climate change is having a severe impact on developing countries, and the poor and vulnerable are suffering the most. Across the world, in the hardest hit regions, Tech for Change and our partners are working together with governments to improve early-warning systems, reduce response time and much more.
